Up for auction is a wonderful pair of De Porceleyne Fles figurines
These figures (Farmer and Farmer’s Wife) were made in large and smaller versions. These is the smaller ones
Approximate measurements: 6 1/4” height.
This figures are in exceptional condition. Like new, without chips, cracks, repairs or crazing.
The year codes are DB (1982) for the Farmer’s Wife and DW (2002) for the farmer.
Founded in 1635, De Porceleyne Fles (The Porcelain Jar or Bottle) is Holland’s most famous Delft Blue factory. Of the dozens of original 17th century Dutch pottery makers, only De Porceleyne Fles remains in operation. Collectors know that delftware produced by De Porceleyne Fles, (also known as Royal Delft,) is recognized to be the standard against which all delftware is judged.
