    Clear, cool skies greeted the start of the annual Hare and Hound National championship meet near Adelanto, California.  Matched against a field of nearly 300 riders, Buck Smith and his Triumph TR-6 set a blistering pace over the hazardous, 150-mile desert course which included crossing the Mojave River swelled by melting Spring snows...
    Don Buol won first place in the 200 cc event on his Tiger Cub T-20 while Keith Meeker and Henry Ramirez...also Cub-mounted...finished 2nd and 3rd.
